About

mzeincloud is a personal home-lab: a small collection of self-hosted web applications running on hardware owned and operated by one person, for the private use of a close circle of family and friends. It is a hobby project, not a business. There is no public sign-up, no advertising, no analytics, and nothing on this domain is offered or sold to the general public.

Everything here exists so a single household can keep its own media library, organized and streamable on phones, tablets, televisions, and computers, without depending on a commercial service. Access to every application is protected by an individual account, and accounts are created by invitation only.

01

Stream

A private media streaming server hosts the household film and television library and streams it on demand to any device, at home or away. It handles artwork, subtitles, watch history, and resuming across devices, and transcodes video on the fly so the same file plays smoothly whether the viewer is on a fast connection or a phone on mobile data. Only invited accounts can browse or play anything.

02

Request

A request portal lets approved members search for films and shows they would like added to the library. When a request is approved it is passed automatically to the download and organizing tools, which fetch the title, name it correctly, place it in the right folder, and notify the streaming server to make it available. Members can follow the status of everything they have asked for.

03

Self-Hosted

Every service runs on privately owned hardware inside a home network, sitting behind a reverse proxy with encrypted connections and per-user authentication. There is no third-party cloud storage of the media, no advertising network, and no external tracking. The platform is maintained as an ongoing hobby, with regular updates, monitoring, and backups.

How it works

A member signs in to the streaming service with their own account and browses the library much like any streaming app. If something is missing, they open the request portal and ask for it.

Behind the scenes, the request is reviewed and, once approved, the automation tools locate a good-quality copy, download it, rename and file it, and the streaming server picks it up automatically. Within a short time the new title simply appears in the member library, ready to watch on any device.

Privacy

mzeincloud is private by design. Accounts exist only for people who have been personally invited. The site does not run advertising, does not sell data, and does not embed third-party trackers or analytics on its services.

Media is stored on local hardware rather than a public cloud, connections are encrypted, and each application requires its own login. This is a non-commercial project run purely for personal and family use.
